Identify a sociological question that can be investigated with the ANES 2016. Identify the dependent variable (DV) you are trying to explain.
Next, identify three to five potential independent variables. Identify the level of measurement of those variables. Select the appropriate analysis for your question with the variables you've selected.
Compute the analysis in R and interpret the results, as appropriate.
1. Explain your research question and why it is sociologically meaningful. Explain the DV you selected and why it is a good indicator of this phenomenon.
2. Assess the reliability and validity of the variable you selected as DV. How could this variable be improved?
3. Using your DV and several IVs, perform a hypothesis test using the correct statistical test and discuss the results. (This might involve one test, such as a regression model or factorial analysis of variance, or several crosstabulations or means.)
4. What has your analysis revealed about the phenomenon? What is the sociological significance of what you've learned?
5. Show your R code used for this analysis.
